The Program

The WAALI Men’s Leadership Program (Maaman Djenna Koorl) has been developed collectively with local Elders and Men from Community to provide attributes that an Aboriginal man should hold. The program incorporates group leadership models and follows effective practices. Cultural content is integrated throughout the course.

Maaman Djenna Koorl helps men build interpersonal skills, gain confidence, and create networks with others on their leadership journey by adopting new ways of working, learning, and being. The application process is open to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men living in the WA region.

Program Overview

Maaman Djenna Koorl includes an orientation session, six leadership development modules, and a formal graduation. All modules must be completed to graduate. You will need to complete program activities before and after each module. During the program, you will participate in tasks, allocated responsibilities, and engage in public speaking to develop your leadership, and communication skills.
